What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Export journal to html?

Postby jgmorse » Thu Jan 12, 2006 4:07 pm

Hello, I have OJS 2.0.2 installed. We're interested in the possibility of making a copy of an OJS journal available as a set of html files open to the public. Is there any convenient way of exporting the contents of an entire journal as a set of linked html files?

Hello jgmorse,

Currently there's no feature of this sort in OJS, although the subject has come up once or twice. The problem is that you'd lose much of the functionality that makes OJS useful -- for example, searching, subscription and access control, etc.

On the other hand, there are many free utilities that will get you half-way there (such as wget and htget on Linux, running in mirror mode) and that, in combination with some manual HTML work, should get you what you're looking for. Unfortunately, it'll take quite a bit of fine-tuning by hand.
