What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Importing not open acces back issues

Postby ntorres » Tue Dec 11, 2007 3:50 am

I'm using the import/export plugin to import old issues to Subscription Journal in OJS.
Following instructions in native dtd, I use the <access_date> and not open_access an write an xml like this:

<issue published="true" current="false">
<title>Núm.: 10</title>
<title locale="en_US">Articles</title>
<abbrev locale="en_US">ART</abbrev>
<article> .. </article>
<article> .. </article>

I import the issue ok but it's open access. If as editor i go to view "issue data" of this Back Issue, on "Access" section I can read Access status and Open access date. The date it's ok but the status is "Open Access" and not "Subscription".
How can I include this information on the xml to import? Must I chabge it manually from each issue imported?

Hi ntorres,

There is a patch for this at http://pkp.sfu.ca/cvs/cvsweb.cgi/ojs2/plugins/importexport/native/NativeImportDom.inc.php.diff?r1=1.40;r2=1.41; you'll need to make sure that your journal has subscriptions enabled in Setup. For previously-imported issues that were erroneously flagged as Open Access, you can correct them manually as Editor in the Issue's "Issue Data" page.
