What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Dear All [Alec],

OJS 2.1.1 is our baseline - no alterations [extra coding] have been added or made [except the one or two buggies]

Difficulty being experienced:
Copyeditor homepage in the 'ACTIVE' list - a very interesting phenomena is taking place.

The list appears: ID | MM-DD |Assign | Sec | Authors | Title | Status which is normal...

BUT: Under Status, the Steps are wrongly indicated to the Copyeditor.

The initial Step 1, is were the Editor request the copyeditors services - that is fine [no problem here]...but when the Copyeditor completes step 1 [whereby the automatic email goes to the author] the Status at the copyeditor end - shows Step 3 and not Step 2. [The author have not completed / or is still underway with the article]

This is causing [as can believed] a lot of frustration for the copyeditor . Is their a matter of rectifying this matter? Or is this normal behaviour [hope not] :D

Awaiting patiently for your response.

Kind Regards,
Trudie

Hi Trudie,

Does the date display on the Copyeditor's page match the date display on the Editor's Copyediting section on the submission's Editing page?

Hi Alec,

Happy to read your response.

Well, basically yes. The dates corresponds, for instance the date it was 'requested' and 'the date underway' also, the 'date completed'

This is what the editor see:

And this is what the copyeditor see:

Before she goes into the title...on her homepage. This is the same article.

My questions is whether it shouldn't indicated Step 2? Due to the fact that its in Step 2?

Thank you for all your help! Always such a pleasure to "speak"/correspond with you!

Sincerest wishes,
Trudie

Hi Trudie,

The problem is that this submission, being in step 2, should not be appearing in the Copyeditor's "Active" list. There's a patch for this at http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3167 that will cause it to move to the Archive list for the duration of step 2, then return to Active when step 3 begins. (Try applying the patch with --dry-run first, as it's been generated against the CVS version of OJS and may not apply cleanly to prior versions.)
