Supplementary files in TOC

Postby selahi » Mon Oct 22, 2007 9:03 am

Dear all,

I just found a setting in journal_settings table named "enablePublisSuppFileId" what does it actually used for...

Actually I want to put all the supplementary files (related to an article) on TOC, so I have assigned SuppFileDAO variable to the issue.tpl and getting the supp file titles so far.... I have to figure out yet how to be able to download them... E.g. as they are downlaoded from editor/layout editor roles. I might use download/downloadFile functions etc.(is that right?)

So can you please throw some light what this "enablePublisSuppFileId" setting is for and can it be used to achieve what I am trying to ...I couldn't find it in the user interface anywhere...

Best regards,

Hi Salman,

The setting is called "enablePublicSuppFileId", not "enablePublisSuppFileId" -- it's used to enable or disable public supplementary file IDs. This feature allows you to "name" supplementary files with a one-word unique label, which is useful e.g. if you want to refer to a supplementary file from within a galley and would rather use a symbolic name than an automatically-assigned numeric ID.
