What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:
1. Search the forum

or from our Google Custom Search

2. Check the FAQ
to see if your question or error has already been resolved.
3. Post a question

subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development
Perhaps a dumb question - but if I am notifying users (I see the progress bar - takes a while with 18000 notifications) - and I am closing the browser or disconnect the computer while this is in progress, is this process interrupted? Or can I just close the connection after initiating the mass email?

I suspect that this will depend on your web server more than anything else -- but in most configurations the process will most likely be aborted if you close the web browser. On websites that perform batch operations, I typically use the tabbing features of my browser and carry on what I was doing in a different tab.
