What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Upload file problems

Postby ramon » Mon Sep 17, 2007 12:03 pm

Hello all,

I couldn't find any posts related to this (to my knowledge) so here it goes:

I'm getting an mconvert() error/warning of invalid type when uploading any type of file to the system. Even though it shows the error, the file is uploaded correctly.

Here's the error message when uploading the CSS file on step 5 of journal config:
Code: Select all
Warning: mime_magic: invalid type 0 in mconvert(). in /var/www/seer/0709/lab20/ojs2/classes/core/String.inc.php on line 216

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /var/www/seer/0709/lab20/ojs2/classes/core/String.inc.php:216) in /var/www/seer/0709/lab20/ojs2/classes/template/TemplateManager.inc.php on line 187

Any related problems? How to fix this? Setting the error_reporting will only hide the issue...

Hi Ramón,

I suspect your magic.mime file is incompatible with the mime_magic library built into PHP. I'd suggest getting a version that's compatible and making sure PHP's mime_content_type function is configured to find it in the right location. Some PHP packages ship with a version of magic.mime.
