DB Error: submit a file for follow-up rounds of review

Postby yaliang » Wed Sep 05, 2007 2:12 am

Dear Friends,

There is a strange DB Error occurred whenever a submission was resubmitted to start a follow-up round of review. The error message is:
Code: Select all
DB Error: Column set to default value; NULL supplied to NOT NULL column 'declined' at row 1

When I reload the page, the review page was changed as Round N+1. And there was not any reviewers automatically assigned. The section editor has to see the data of previous round and select the reviewers from the reviewers’ list.

The current version of OJS for our system is 2.1.1.0 (July 20, 2006) running on Windows IIS and Server 2003. Please give me your suggestions to solve this bug. Thank you very much.

Best Regards,

Yaliang

Hi yaliang,

This is probably because you're using Microsoft SQL Server, which isn't a supported platform -- however, I don't expect there will be any major incompatibilities. Try applying the patch linked at http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1812, which you may have to partially apply manually; it should work around this problem. If you see more of the same, please note it here so that we can address it and better support Microsoft SQL Server in upcoming releases.

The due date problem in starting follow-up rounds of review

Postby yaliang » Fri Sep 28, 2007 9:26 am

Dear Alec,

Thanks for your help. After applying the patch, the original problem was solved. However, a new problem was found. The due date for most of the the reviewers was not automatically set, except for the last one on the list. For those cases, a dash line was shown for the reviewers. The editor has to click it to set the date or week. Can you give me any hit to debug and solve this problem? Thank you very much.
