What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Create User + Search

Postby Matt Ferranto » Fri Aug 24, 2007 3:01 am

Hello,

Here are two problems to consider:

I've created a user but cannot find the person under Users/All Users. When I try to create another profile for this person, I'm told that I already have a user with this email. But I can't find the person anywhere - I've looked through all the user categories, searched the site, etc.

When I've been trying to search through the Support Topics, I keep getting this response:
>>>
The following words in your search query were ignored: create user.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.
>>>

Obviously "create user" is the most recent search term I tried, but anything I put into the search box returns with this.

I'm using a Mac.

thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Matt,

The account won't appear in the "All Users" list unless it has at least one role in the journal you're managing. Choose a role, click "Enroll Existing User" at the bottom of the page, and you'll be able to find the account there.
