Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Defining Editors keywords

Postby elcvia » Fri Jun 22, 2007 6:57 am

We are an online open journal (http://elcvia.cvc.uab.es) and we want to migrate from a home-made software tool to OJS.

In our journal, each editor has associated a list of keywords and topics of interest to which he is related and is an expert. Once a paper is received, the editor selection is done depending on the match between the keywords of the paper and the editors.

Is there any way to define keywords for each user, and a way to define keywords for the papers to submit?
The keywords must be selected from a list of more or less 20/30 topics.

Thanks in advance

Hi elcvia,

OJS currently supports a text field for reviewing interests that might suit your needs; it can be searched when assigning a reviewer to a submission. It doesn't currently support controlled lists (i.e. it's a free-form text field, usually entered by the reviewer upon registration) but we're considering moving to controlled lists for a future release.
