I've been looking at changing the default php upload size within OJS.
The OJS is running as a Virtual host on the webserver. I have tested the upload_max_filesize option against the web server on the actual host and am able to alter the max size successfully.
My question is where to place the .htaccess file within OJS to allow for the upload of larger files?
My system is a Redhat ES4 running apache 2.2. OJS-2.1.0

If your server is configured to accept this sort of override, you can put the .htaccess file in the OJS installation directory (i.e. the one that contains the main index.php script).
