What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Implementing non-OJS content

Postby gbnitram » Sat May 05, 2007 11:13 am

In my OJS it is necessary to add some content that works outside OJS. I am wondering how to make the transition from OJS- and non-OJS-content invisible. Therefore, as I see it, I can either make additions in the OJS source code with the extra content or make a brand new site that copies the OJS design / uses it's style sheets. Does this make sense? OJS doesn't have a standard-option for this problem, right?

I am inclined to prefer the second option. Is that a good idea and does anyone have experience with this?

I hope this makes sense, but I am still in the planning phase so my ideas are still a bit hazy...

Thank you!

Hi gbnitram,

If possible, I'd suggest importing your back-issues (e.g. using the import/export tools and plugins/importexport/native/native.dtd); this will take some expertise in XML. Alternately, you can use the Expedite feature, which is described in other discussions in this forum (try searching for "expedite").
