What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Banner change

Postby renatem » Tue May 01, 2007 7:22 am

Hi,

I would like to change the green background of the banner at the top of our site to white or a background image. Where in the stylesheet is set, or where else should I look for it.
Thanks
Renate

If I have what you mean right look under styles/common.css

Scroll down or search for:

#header {
padding: 0;
margin: 0 auto;
background-color: #0053a0; change 0053a0 this to ffffff
text-align: center;

To set it to show an Image you need to change some code to include the image in the common.php file

To add an image wouldn't you do that in the header.tpl file in templates/common? Wouldn't it be better to just add a div in that file and then use css to set the desired image to be the background? I want to do a similar thing and I'm thinking that this is the way to go. Please let me know otherwise.

Thanks,
Sean

I added it like this, maybe theres a better way but this worked for me.

In the common.css file I located this line of code:

#header h1 {
margin: 0 auto;
padding: 0.5em 0 0.5em 0;
font-family: Georgia,'Times New Roman',Times,serif;
font-weight: normal;

And changed it to this:

#header h1 {
margin: 0 auto;
padding: 0.5em 0 0.5em 0;
background: #0053a0 url(http://www.site.ca/graphics/logo.gif) no-repeat;
width: 600px;
height: 56px;
font-family: Verdana,'Times New Roman',Times,serif;
font-weight: normal;
<a id="header h1" href="http://www.site.ca/journal/index.php"></a>
}
