What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

The default value that shows up on config php at my site is ojs.mysite.com

but this URL does not exits (it does not open in a browser)

Is this right? when I have to enter a OAI URL I enter this one or no?

What I have to do to enable OAI at my OJS site?

Hi ozp,

That is a sample URL and doesn't actually exist. To find out what OAI URL to use, go to your OJS installation and look at setup page 3 (depending on your version of OJS). Under the heading "Register Journal for Indexing" you should find your OAI URL. OAI must be enabled in config.inc.php, but it is by default, so unless you've changed it you don't need to worry.

So, again, "how oai repository_id works?" What value should it have?

I think I did something wrong during setup, and now the value here looks like "ojs.134.68.190.5". This violates a <restriction> in the schema and doesn't seem to jibe with the spec. Clearly "134.68.190.5" should be "journals.iupui.edu", but should the whole repository_id be "ojs.journals.iupui.edu"?

I suppose this is used to build URIs like "oai:ojs.journals.iupui.edu:myjournal-123"?

Hi mwood,

The OAI repository ID isn't like a URL in that it isn't used as part of OAI requests. It should be a unique identifier for the data source and thus using something like "ojs." followed by the hostname is usually a good idea. The OAI repository ID is configured in the config.inc.php configuration file.
