What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Article title - Two separate title lines.

Hi there,

For our Journal we require two title lines for each article. The second title is the title of the actual article while the first title describes the article. ie. "Target Article 1..." OR "Peer Commentary 1" etc.

I have played around with the issue.tpl code and I can see a rather complicated and vague solution, is there a simple one?

I understand the title will not accept any HTML code...??

Thanks
James

Hi James,

If you add "<br/>" (the line break tag) to the list of allowed HTML tags $allowedHtmlTags in classes/core/String.inc.php around line 240, you'll be able to use this tag in articles. Let me know if you have any trouble. This is definitely the easiest solution, although not as clean as the ideal solution, which would be to add a subtitle metadata field. FYI, we'll be making metadata set changes easier in a future release.
