Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Interstitial PDFS

I wondered whether you know anything about 'interstitial pdfs'. We've had these pointed out to us in various links:

[PDF]
The Scarlet Mile: A Social History of Prostitution in Kalgoorlie ...
File Format: PDF/Adobe Acrobat - View as HTML
Horse and Rider in Australian Legend by Nanette Mantle. Carlton: The Miegunyah Press,. 2004, pp. 307, $49.95 hardback, ISBN: 0 522 85089 8. ...
http://www.nla.gov.au/openpublish/index.php/ ras/article/viewPDFInterstitial/385/407 - Similar pages

There's an additional complication in the example above: the url points to another article at the journal, in fact there's no article on the social history of prositution in this journal.

I'm not sure what causes this. Do you have any ideas?

Hi Bobby,

Do you know via which mechanism these articles were indexed? For example, are you using the Google Scholar plugin?

Hi Alec

Yes, we are using a Google Scholar plugin. We've just been advised by Google to switch to a new plugin. Maybe that will solve the problem?

Cheers
Bobby

Hi Bobby,

Yes, the most recent plugin may well correct that problem. The quickest way to get up to date is to download the most recent GoogleScholarPlugin.inc.php from http://pkp.sfu.ca/cvs/cvsweb.cgi/ojs2/plugins/gateways/googleScholar/GoogleScholarPlugin.inc.php and install it in place of the current version (which should be in plugins/gateways/googleScholar in your OJS installation).

Thanks Alec; I'll get our Systems Administrator to download the plugin.

Until next time.
