Deleting Author Comments

Deleting Author Comments

Hi Alec,
How can I delete author comments from a particular author by logging in as journal manager ?

Hi Abhiram,

Do you mean comments as in review comments or layout editing comments? You can use the "Log In As" feature of the Journal Manager's Users interface to become either an editor or the particular user (e.g. reviewer) who posted the comment. Then you should be able to delete the comment in question from the comments pop-up.

I mean the comments posted by authors . I Wanna to delete the author comments . Summary section of that particular article is given below

Hi abhiram,

The "comments to editor" field is currently only available on the author's submission form, which is no longer accessible after the submission is complete. For the time being, you'll have to correct this in the database, i.e.:

UPDATE articles SET comments_to_ed='' WHERE article_id=193;
I suspect the author misunderstood the purpose of the field in your submission; if we hear of this sort of situation happening regularly, we'll probably implement a way to modify the field in an upcoming release.
