What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

header image for html files?

Postby arachne » Sat Feb 17, 2007 12:18 am

Hi - is it possible to maintain the look-and-feel of the header for the other journal pages (which have our image header) for the HTML files in each issue?

cheers,

Hi jenea,

HTML articles use the templates/article/article.tpl template to wrap HTML content; if you modify this template to include the header layout you'd like to use, you'll need to include additional HTML here. Depending on the nature of the modifications you'd like to make, you may be able to just use CSS -- if that's possible, I'd suggest doing so.

Thanks! - this worked out well:

in article.tpl I placed the code calling up the page header image from 'header.tpl' (but took out the variables) & placed it after "div id="container"" and before "div id="body""

Code: Select all
<div id="container">

<div id="header">
<div id="headerTitle">

{if $displayPageHeaderTitle && is_array($displayPageHeaderTitle)}
   <img src="{$publicFilesDir}/{$displayPageHeaderTitle.uploadName|escape:"url"}" width="{$displayPageHeaderTitle.width}" height="{$displayPageHeaderTitle.height}" border="0" alt="" />
{/if}

</div>
</div>

<div id="body">

and it works fine! :D Might want to scale down my page header img though, it's a wee bit big for the HTML layout. But otherwise real nice, and gives some continuity with our layout of the last 6 years of publishing.
