Forgive me if this has already been asked...I am new and we are just setting up our system. In creating new users, provision is made for listing reviewing interests as free text. The journal we are setting up has a small controlled vocabulary (app. 25 terms) identifying topics that we want reviewers (and submitters of articles) to select from as opposed to creating their own free text strings. Is it possible/easy to substitute something like a drop down selection list as opposed to a free text entry box?

We've had a number of requests and are definitely considering this for a future release, but it's not a high priority at the moment. If it's an important feature for you and you have development resources on hand that might be willing to take this on, please feel free to put them in touch.

Alec, I may be able to throw some human resources at the problem if you'll point us in the right direction within the system and answer questions as we try it. Ideally, there would be a means for a journal editor to enter journal specific topical areas at setup or reference an external, machine addressable instance of the vocabulary terms. Given the small size of the vocabulary of concern to me, I'd be quite satisfied with being able to manually insert such terms into the code for a drop-down or something.
