Hi,

At the time of user registration our website visitors are receiving an error message on the browser screen i.e.
"Your request timed out. Please retry the request."
Also, there is no new user added in the list of registered users.

What is the cause of this error, and what will be the solutions.
Kindly explain it.

Hi Ganesh,

What version of OJS are you using?
Have you checked your server's error log for relevant messages?
Are you able to send emails in other parts of OJS?

1) I am using OJS 2.4.2.0.

2) given below the server log:

In above code, I am replaced original ip_address and website address for security reasons.

3) We are unable to send emails through OJS.

Hi Ganesh,

Your SMTP configuration in your config.inc.php is probably incorrect. OJS may attempt to send an email to the user upon registration; if your email sending configuration isn't correct, it may time out attempting to send the message.

In which section/line of config.inc.php file will check the smtp configuration?
<I am not expert in php language>

This is in continuation of my earlier post.
I just found that the OJS system is not sending the emails outside of our domain like gmail or yahoo etc.
however I am able to send the email within domain through OJS.

Kindly provide the solution.

Hi Ganesh,

I suspect that there is either a mismatch in configuration in the settings you've quoted -- I can't comment specifically without knowing anything about your host -- or your host is not sending certain messages because of security restrictions they have configured on their end. For example, using Gmail's SMTP service will force all sender email addresses to be the same as the sender's account. I'm afraid this is very dependent on your SMTP server so I can't provide more detail than that. If you have another SMTP server available, or local mail delivery (with SMTP disabled) is an option, I'd suggest trying those to see how the behavior is different.
