What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

How to manually clear caches in OJS 2.3.6?

Postby bdm » Mon Mar 10, 2014 5:10 am

Hi, Something has gone badly wrong and I can't do anything at all through the web interface (can't even get a login prompt). Are there instructions for clearing all the caches manually from inside the web server? Thanks.

Hi bdm,

To clear the caches manually, delete all .php, .html, and .gz files from cache/; and delete all .php files from cache/t_compile.

However, if your system is that disabled, I'd suggest checking your web server's error log.

That did it, thanks. The logs suggest that the cache corruption was caused by running out of memory.
