What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Hi Alec,

When I attemted the export articles I got the following errors without any xml output

An invalid character was found in text content. Error processing resource 'http://journals.mui.ac.ir/index.php/jrms/manager

I dont have any idea on the invalid character in the article.

Hi Mahmood,

You probably have an invalid UTF-8 character in your metadata. This could come from a number of sources:
  • A non-transcoded migration from OJS 1.x
  • Cutting and pasting content from a Microsoft application (e.g. Word) containing smart quotes
  • Latin1-encoding characters
You'll need to narrow down where the invalid character is; try exporting individual articles manually until you determine which article contains the problem, then review its metadata. In particular, watch for smart quotes (which are technically not valid) in abstracts and try replacing them with regular quotes.
