What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Display images in authors bio

Postby cabotine » Sun Dec 29, 2013 2:35 pm

Hi,
we use to include images of our authors in the biography section.
After the update to version 2.4.3 they dont show up anymore. :( It seems as if the html and therefore the img ist deleted from the text.

I tried using the code from the old reading tool but it didnt help.
Code: Select all
<p>{$author->getAuthorBiography()}</p>

Any hints?
Thx for your help.

Hi Frank,

Check the value of your allowed_html setting in config.inc.php to ensure that image tags and all the necessary attributes are allowed.

Hi Alec,
I maybe worked it out, it seems as if the image-tags were already stripped during importing the articles. I will try that again.
And could you maybe have a look at the rss-feed-question? I posted it in the wrong forum:

Thank you and some wonderful last days of this year

Hi Alec,
me again.
Hmm it seems the images got already lost during the export from our old site. (The database was corrupted at an early upgrade attempt so a regular update doesnt work anymore.)
What a pity.
Best

Hi Alec,
yes I can. ;)
I exported all the articles from an OJS 2.2.0.0 by the xml-plugin (export articles) and re-imported them into the newly setup 2.3.4
If you want to I can send you the issue.xml.

Hi Frank,

That will result in a lot of lost information -- it's not intended for upgrades, only for migrating individual issues and articles. There is a separate upgrade process documented in docs/UPGRADE.

Hi Alec,
well as I described earlier the usual upgrade process failed, because some unfinished database updates. (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6457)
So my only chance was to create a new server and tried to get the articles over there. As you can imagine this, kind of sucks but it seems to be the only chance and may its better than hassling with a corrupt database for the next years.
I am thinking about redirecting the old links by an htaccess-file.

Do you have any ideas on the RSS-question?
Thx

Hi Frank,

Did you follow up to the last post on your part of the thread (http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6457#p24948)? If not, you could PM me a link to a database dump and I can have a look.

Someone will follow up on the RSS thread separately.
