What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:
1. Search the forum
. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page
or from our Google Custom Search
, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend
searching the forum for said error.
2. Check the FAQ
to see if your question or error has already been resolved.
3. Post a question
, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion
subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development
I am installing openJ to host a journal. I have my journal website hosted on another server(but with no database capacity). I want to get a separate server to host OJS. I'm just wondering how would I go about doing so? I'd like to keep the domain consistent for the user, i.e they would still see the same domain on address bar.
Thanks in advance.

OJS will be fairly agnostic to the way it's being served up -- the same considerations will apply as if you were doing virtual hosting, i.e. you might need to change OJS's base_url[...] directives to get it to generate the right URLs (including for CSS URLs and the like), but it generally doesn't care what URL it's requested from. I suggest looking into your existing server's ability to proxy, e.g. using mod_proxy for Apache, in order to permit both your existing website and OJS to coexist under the same URL. We won't be able to help you with configuring mod_proxy here, but can help with the OJS-specific configuration aspects.
