where to find root index file

Postby mlconrad » Wed Sep 04, 2013 10:32 am

We've just installed OJS ver 2.4.2 and I have to customize the index page as well as the journals. I realize how to customize the journals themselves but am having a problem locating the root index file. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance!

Hi ML,

Technically, there isn't a root index file in the traditional sense. OJS uses a page routing system and a collection of handlers to 'direct traffic' when looking at journals. What you probably want to customize are the various templates located in the templates/ and lib/pkp/templates/ directories. There are several in the 'common' directories for things like headers and footers, and also a few in the 'index' template directories for the overall site and journals.

Jason

Hi ML,

Do you mean the site homepage? Look in templates/index/site.tpl; the controller for that template is in pages/index/IndexHandler.inc.php.
