What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Emailing all users - possible bug?

Postby smcphill » Mon Jun 26, 2006 5:24 pm

Hi,

I've got an OJS site (2.1.0.1, w/ php 4.3.11, mysql 4.0.21 on Solaris 9) with 3 journals - one has 90-odd users, another has 12, another 4. I can reproduce this error on all journals.

Logging in as the site admin, I go to the journal manager page, and click "All Users" (/index.php/XXX/manager/people/all). If I click the "select all" button, then "send email" button, the resultant screen (/index.php/XXX/user/email) contains all the email addresses, but also has the following error on the page, just above the email form:
Code: Select all
Errors occurred processing this form
The email address http://www.nla.gov.au/openpublish/index.php/XXX/manager/people/all is invalid.
The email address Send Email is invalid.

It doesn't appear to impact on the functionality of the page, but is confusing for the user. Looks like the "select all" is being a bit over-zealous!

Can I please get confirmation that this is a bug? Can provide additional logs if that helps.

thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

Yes, this is a bug in OJS 2.1.0-1; we'll be releasing a fix for this with our next release, OJS 2.1.1, very shortly. If you'd like to correct this in the meantime, I can send a patch.

Regards,
