What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:
1. Search the forum
. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page
or from our Google Custom Search
, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend
searching the forum for said error.
2. Check the FAQ
to see if your question or error has already been resolved.
3. Post a question
, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OJS Editorial Support and Discussion
subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development
My managing editor and I are both new to OJS. We are both having problems using step 5.1 of "The Look" ("Journal Homepage Header") to edit banner. We want to change the title image, the title text, and the background color (a gray-green, rgb(170,187,170)).
The entries in the fields in step 5.1 do not match the displayed elements of the banner (a short gif, 241 pixels wide and the text "Electronic Journal of Communication" without the word "The").
I cannot see how to edit the background color. I suspected that step 5.6 ("Journal Layout") was used, but I don't see how to tailor the background color.
Here is the relevant code as served:
<img src="http://staging.ejcojs.cios.org/public/journals/3/pageHeaderLogoImage_en_US.gif" width="241" height="33" alt="Page Header Logo" />
Electronic Journal of Communication
In this code snippet I can see the gif for the short logo (241 pixels wide). But I cannot find this logo in our input on "The Look" and I cannot see where the grey-green color is specified anywhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Watch out for the distinction between the homepage setup elements and the journal setup elements; both can be specified on setup page 5 but the former will only be shown on the homepage.
For changing the green header, you'll need to upload a CSS file specifying the change.
