no /index directory within the /ojs directory

Postby ojsed » Wed Jul 17, 2013 10:24 am

Hello,
I'm very new to ojs and trying to install on Go Daddy.
I created a directory: "domain name.com/ojs"
Uploaded ojs-2.4.2 after unzipping on my hard drive.
Typed: "domain name/ojs" and anticipated that the installer would launch.
Instead the URL changed to: http://domain name.com/ojs/index.php/index/install
And the page displays this message: "No input file specified"
Go Daddy support explains: "Upon visiting just domain name.com/ojs/index.php, we are redirected to domain name.com/ojs/index.php/index/install. This would indicate that there is a redirect within the installation files that is calling for the /index directory. However, there is no /index directory within the /ojs directory. In which case, you would want to ensure that all the files of your application have been uploaded accordingly to be installed."
I checked the files and the server seems to contain everything that had been unzipped on my hard drive.

Assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi ojsed,

GoDaddy appears to have broken support for the PATH_INFO CGI variable. See e.g. http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9269 for a work-around. (This will make your URLs uglier, unfortunately.)

Thank you, Alec. This worked. I now see the install screen.
