What to do if you have a technical problem with OJS:1.
Search the forum. You can do this from the
Advanced Search Page or from our
Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we
especially recommend searching the forum for said error.
2.
Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.
3.
Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the
OJS Editorial Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the
OJS Development subforum.

When trying to upload a .png file for any of the Header/Logos/Titles, OJS returns the error "Invalid homepage header title image format or upload failed. Accepted formats are .gif, .jpg, or .png."
Uploading a .jpg does not return an error, but the image does not display. It displays one of those "image is supposed to be here but isn't" pictures (a blue x in Safari or broken file in Chrome).
I've tried clearing browser cache, Data Cache, and Template Cache.
Any ideas?

Hi thetwentyone,
Which version of OJS are you using, and what's your PHP version as well?
Cheers,
James

Hi thetwentyone,
Hrm, I can't replicate this. Are you sure files are being identified properly on your site? See
this FAQ entry for troubleshooting information. (I'm assuming that you aren't having problems uploading files that aren't being checked for filetype.)
Cheers,
James

Hi James,
Im working with thetwentyone on this, the section of the sight for journal submissions is properly checking for filetype as is another script we were previously using for file submissions before switching to OJS so I don't think it has to do with that.
Any insight is greatly appreciated thanks,
Max

Hi thetwentyone,
I've tested on php 5.2.6 and basically the same OJS version as yours, and can't replicate either. Are you sure the images you are using are correctly formed? Have you tried other images, e.g. one's you've downloaded off of the web?
Cheers,
Matt

Hi all,
There are numerous threads in image format identification problems like the one posted here, including in the FAQ. Please investigate those first, and if they don't resolve the problem, post what you've tried and the results you got.
