What to do if you have a technical problem with OMP:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OMP Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OMP Development subforum.

Embedded PDF is not shown in Firefox

Postby UBWolf » Tue Aug 05, 2014 2:00 am

Hi there,

we have trouble with the embedded pdfs in our download section. With Mozilla I can't see them, although the pdf plugin is activated and I can see embedded pdf files from other websites, just not with OMP. After some time I managed to make it work with Google Chrome, but still not with Mozilla. Do you have an idea what I can do to make this work? There isn't an javascript error or anything like this.
Will it be possivble that someday other pdf plugins will work, too?

Thank you!

Kind regards
Daniela

Hi Daniela,

There is some missing styling code in the 1.1.0 release of OMP. We're working on a fix for that here; feel free to try the patches there.

Hi Alec,

thank you very much!

In Google Chrome the pdf lays above the download link. Has this something to do with the issue you are working on? My colleague thinks it's because of the Chrome PDF Viewer, but although I've deactived the viewer the problem is still stere.

Kind Regards
Daniela

Hi Alec,

I am sorry it took me so long to finally get some news. Unfortunately we've already applied the patch, but the pdf is still not shown. Do you have another idea what we could try?

Kind regards
Daniela

Hi Daniela,

If you've got any PDFs published publicly, could you send me a URL to the installation so that I can take a look?

Hi Daniela,

Thanks for the URL. I believe you're running into this bug:
http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=8833

Can you try the additional patch linked there?

Hi Alec,

thank you so much! With this patch the files are shown in Firefox again :D

We still have a bit trouble with Google Chrome. As I've explained before the document is to big, so you can't access the download link. Do you have an idea how to get rid of this problem, too?

Kind regards
Daniela
