Reading Tools

Hi all:

Can anyone explain what the Reading Tools are, and what they do, and how they work? And what side-effects they might have?

The only documentation I can find is one page in the "PKP Harvester in an hour" guide, which doesn't tell me very much. Am I missing something?

Unfortunately, we have radically modified the user interface on our installation, so I can't just experiment with the configuration and see what happens.

Hi Gordon,

The Reading Tools are a set of resources for journal readers to use in order to enhance the journal content. They can be roughly broken up into two categories:

• Functional tools: These are different types of functions that can be performed on the journal content, from downloading a citation to emailing the author or forwarding the article on to an interested third party. These can be enabled in the Reading Tool Options page.
• Related Items tools: These are sets of external resources, such as Google searches and more domain-specific search engines, that can be used to find related content based on the particular discipline of a journal.
