Hi mica78,

You need to increase PHP's memory_limit value; see, for example, http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?t=670. 12M or 16M should be enough.

I increased the memory limit to 16 MB's. Still I get:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 128 bytes) in /var/www/harvester-2.0.1/classes/search/SearchIndex.inc.php on line 107

Hi mica78,

Did you restart your web server after changing the PHP setting? If so, and you're still getting this message, you're probably editing the wrong php.ini file.

Yes I did and I double checked with phpinfo() that Im editing the right php.ini and that the memory limit is not set to 16MB. I even tried with 32MB's and I still get the same error. Im trying to harvest from Dspace with about 33000 items stored.

Hi Mika,

If you're viewing phpinfo() via the web server but trying to harvest via the command line, it's possible that there are two different php.ini files.
