Display hyperlink in record fields if 'http://' matches?

What about the idea to display a hyperlink in every field of a record if a certain string pattern matches the content?

I'm thinking of patterns like 'uri:', 'http://' or 'https://', like in the following example: <dc:publisher>uri:http://www.geometa.info</dc:publisher>. There are other possible DC-elements like dc:identifier, dc:relation, or dc:rights.
