Forgotten Username and Password

Postby kyle » Fri Oct 06, 2006 10:27 am

Hi All,

I cannot login into the admin section of the harvester because I have forgotten the username and password. Is there anyway to regain control of the system (Yes I know, real brillant on my part - Doh! ;-) )

Thank you in advance for any help,
Kyle

Hi Kyle,

You can find out your username with the following SQL statement in MySQL:
Code: Select all
select setting_value from site_settings where setting_name = 'username';
You can then reset your password with the following:
Code: Select all
update site_settings set setting_value = md5(concat('username_goes_here', 'password_goes_here')) where setting_name = 'password';
You may be using SHA1 hashing, if enabled in config.php; in this case, use the "sha1" function instead of the "md5" function in the above statement.
