Which version

Postby Banderson » Wed Dec 08, 2010 11:48 am

I'm a little confused about the status of the current version of OCS. On the download page, 2.1.2 is listed as the stable release, and 2.3.3-1 as a development release; but there have already been release notifications for 2.2 and 2.3. We're currently running the stable version; should we upgrade, or hold off?

Hi Bill,

That's a timely reminder -- our plans were to release OCS 2.3.3-1 and designate it stable once it had a few weeks for anything unexpected to shake out. We've been using OCS 2.3.3-1 at production level here at SFU for quite some time with good results.

So yes, it's time to designate OCS 2.3.3-1 as a stable release.

Incidentally, we've started tracking recommended patches for each new version; see http://pkp.sfu.ca/wiki/index.php/OCS_Recommended_Patches and sign up via RSS if you like.
