Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OCS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved. Please note that this FAQ is OJS-centric, but most issues are applicable to both platforms.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OCS Conference Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OCS Development subforum.

Portuguese translation on OCS 2.1

Postby erick.fonseca » Mon Apr 12, 2010 8:03 am

I found some incomplete Portuguese translations in my OCS 2.1 installation. In the Timeline page, for example, it is displayed ##manager.timeline.scheduleEvents##
However, on the OCS home page, the Brazilian Portuguese translation is said to be complete. Is something missing there? After enabling the translation plugin, I found there are dozens of values missing from the locale file.
Is it possible to use the default English version without the hash characters?

Hi erick,

While we work with our translators to ensure timely translations of our software, we don't actually audit the translations fully once complete, so some keys may be missing. You could always contact the maintainer to see if they have a more complete version of the translation, and you can always update the translation yourself. (We are always happy to receive updated translations, by the way.) Unfortunately, at this time there is no way to fall back to the default English translation if a key is missing.

Cheers,
James
