Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OCS:1.
Search the forum. You can do this from the
Advanced Search Page or from our
Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we
especially recommend searching the forum for said error.
2.
Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved. Please note that this FAQ is OJS-centric, but most issues are applicable to both platforms.
3.
Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the
OCS Conference Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the
OCS Development subforum.

I would like to be able to send out an email to all users registered with our conference website. The purpose is to tell them that the conference website is up and running and ready to receive abstract submissions. I would like to include the user's username in the email. Last year (our 2nd year using OCS 2) we had 30-40 people who ended up creating new accounts and I would like to avoid that this year. I realize that this is not something currently built-in to OCS. However, I would appreciate any guidance you could give me in order to allow me to send out these emails.
Thank you.

Hi Trudy,
Easiest is probably to use the existing Notify Users email option (available as Director) and, rather than include any username/password information, just include a reminder that they are, indeed, registered with the site, and provide a link to the site login (and probably also forgot password) page.
Cheers,
James
