Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OCS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved. Please note that this FAQ is OJS-centric, but most issues are applicable to both platforms.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OCS Conference Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OCS Development subforum.

In OCS 2.0.0-1, when you click the link "PFD/HTML" right to "ABSTRACT" in "schedConf/presentations" the file don't appear.

First we got an url like http://../paper/view/19/85 before got http://../paper/download/19/85.

It's due to the paper_galley table which don't contain the file Id

This patchs avoid this problem :

Code: Select all
ocs-2.0.0-1/pages/trackDirector/SubmissionEditHandler.inc.php
line 906
before :        import('submission.form.PaperGalleyForm');
                $galleyForm = &new PaperGalleyForm($paperId);
                $galleyId = $galleyForm->execute($fileName);

after :         import('submission.form.PaperGalleyForm');
                if ($fileName == 'layoutFile') {
                        // Find the attached file
                        $paperFileDao = &DAORegistry::getDAO('PaperFileDAO');
                        $paperFiles =& $paperFileDao->getPaperFilesByPaper($paperId);
                        foreach ($paperFiles as $paperFile) {
                                // Need Id and Name in classes/submission/from/PaperGalleyForm.inc.php
                                $fileName = $paperFile->_data['fileId']."#".$paperFile->_data['fileName'] ;
                                if ($paperFile->_data['type'] == 'submission/review') {
                                        $fileRev = $paperFile->_data['fileId']."#".$paperFile->_data['fileName'] ;
                                        }
                        }
                        // Prefer review version if exist
                        if (isset($fileRev)) {
                                $fileName = $fileRev ;
                                }
                }
                $galleyForm = &new PaperGalleyForm($paperId);
                $galleyId = $galleyForm->execute($fileName);

with

Code: Select all
ocs-2.0.0-1/classes/submission/form/PaperGalleyForm.inc.php
line 147
before :         } else {
                        $fileId = 0;
                        }

after:           } else {
                        // use prepared Id and Name from pages/trackDirector/SubmissionEditHandler.inc.php
                        $indSep = strpos($fileName,"#") ;
                        $fileId = substr($fileName,0,$indSep) ; ;
                        $fileName = substr($fileName,$indSep+1,99) ; ;
                        $indExt = strpos($fileName,".") ;
                        $fileType = substr($fileName,$indExt+1,99) ; ;
                        }

Hi Alec

Sorry I was migrating to OCS 2.1. Now it works.

The problem still remains in 2.1; I thought it was a bug but it's an unfortunate situation.

When an author joins a supplementary file to his submission ; this file, even if it is accepted, cannot be shown directly on-line in "Presentations" as an element related to the abstract (It is the case of any supplementary file).

To show this file in "Presentations" Director/TrackDirector has to download again the same file (having got back it at first on his computer) as "Galley". This useless gymnastics can be avoided applying the supplied patch but it becomes a systematic solution and I do not know which is the impact on the OCS's philosophy.

Hi crihou2,

If you've enabled the Reading Tools, Supplementary Files are available to readers there; these will typically be data sets and other pieces of information that are useful to readers but not part of the submission itself.

Hi Alec,

You are right.

My mistake comes from an other conference management product , in wich reading tools serve to define evaluation criteria of submissions. In OCS it has another sense(direction).

So it would be good, if it's possible, to delete(eliminate) this topic for not to persuade in others than there is a problem with "Galleys".

Regards.
