Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OCS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved. Please note that this FAQ is OJS-centric, but most issues are applicable to both platforms.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OCS Conference Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OCS Development subforum.

Hi James,

I applied the patch, and repeated the procedure you proposed (upload a dummy file, etc). When browsing by author or by title, the abstracts are still listed, no changes at all in the situation...

I do not know if it was necessary, but I cleared the data caches just in case after applying the patch. BTW, when is it necessary to clear the templates cache?

Hi Alberto,

Try also the patch for bug #3282 at http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3282; this patch was written against the CVS version of OCS, so you'll have to double-check that it applies cleanly to OCS 2.0. Use the --dry-run option to the patch tool, and if it doesn't apply cleanly, let me know and I'll post a 2.0 version of the patch.

Hi Alec,

I have good news. The two patches you proposed (http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3397, 2.0 patch, and http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3282) worked well. Now I do not have the eliminated papers appearing listed in the browse by author or browse by title sections.

Yesterday I made a mistake and in fact did not introduce the patch 3397. I realized it today, and after patching I noticed that the browse by title was corrected. The second patch worked by eliminating the browse by authors. The only lines I added from this patch were
--> import('paper.Paper');
and
--> AND a.status = ' . SUBMISSION_STATUS_PUBLISHED . '
There were other differences in the patch but I guess they have to do with another things (0 instead of NULL's, etc). I do not know php enough so as to introduce them...

Thanks a lot for your support !
