What to do if you have a technical problem with OCS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved. Please note that this FAQ is OJS-centric, but most issues are applicable to both platforms.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OCS Conference Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OCS Development subforum.

Hi meicecc,

can you provide any more detail on the installation process -- did it say the installation completed successfully? Can you access other parts of your conference website?

Thanks,
James

Hi James,

Yes the installation completed successfully and I can access other parts of the conference website but I cant login to the system.
Please visit the site at http://www.meicecc.com/ocs

When I try to login I get redirected to the login page!

I set the session_check_ip off but still didn't work.

Thanx,

Sam

Hi Sam,

This has already been discussed here: http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2536

Let us know if that didn't solve your problem.

Thanks,
smiri

Hi...

I tried to locate the following files but couldn't locate them!
admin/include/cookie.inc.php
include/cookie.inc.php

where can I find the admin folder? I looked for it but it's not in the OCS folder...

Thanx

Hi,

Ok, the last link I sent you was from OCS 1.X I didn't realize that, sorry.

So here's a couple of more pages you might find useful:

http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1924
http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=119

Again, some of these are pretty old. But from most of them, it seems like it's either a windows server issue or a bad / buggy version of Zend Optimizer or PHP. Can you give me more information on your server configuration, and also have you checked you error logs to see what errors are happening?

Thanks,
smiri

Dear smiri,

I am using a hosted server and I have contacted their customer support team to solve the problem and waiting for their answer!
Could the problem be using an external mysql server?

Hi meicecc,

Just following up to see if you were able to resolve this issue. If you did, perhaps if you post your solution here it'll be useful for some other users.

regards,
smiri
