how soon is very soon...?

I have never administered OCS before, but I will be setting up an install for a non-profit I work with prior to me leaving the country next month. Is it worthwhile for me to set up the currently available release and then upgrade when the next version comes out, or should I wait until the next version comes out?

Hi charlener,
I hesitate to give an exact date, as we've already missed a few deadlines on OCS 2.0 -- however, we're working on integrating electronic registration payment at the moment, and then we'll need to do a little final testing. Those are the only two tasks left for this release.
FYI, the initial release of OCS 2.0 will *not* include migration tools to allow importing of OCS 1.x conferences. We'll be implementing this for a future release, but its scope may be limited as the two applications are quite different.
If you're comfortable playing with CVS and want to try the pre-release code to see if it'll suit you, the PKP CVS repository is open -- see http://pkp.sfu.ca/ocs2/README-CVS.
