What to do if you have a technical problem with OCS:
1. Search the forum
. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page
or from our Google Custom Search
, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend
searching the forum for said error.
2. Check the FAQ
to see if your question or error has already been resolved. Please note that this FAQ is OJS-centric, but most issues are applicable to both platforms.
3. Post a question
, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OCS Conference Support and Discussion
subforum; if you have a development question, try the OCS Development
I've been trying to send emails, but spamassassin keep's reporting that I'm sending spam, my own and foreign.
The highest score it reports is about HELO command:
2.0 HELO_NO_DOMAIN Relay reports its domain incorrectly
On the webserver that OJS is installed, HELO is required, so maybe OJS is not sending the right information to it.
Is this know, or OJS doesn't send HELO by default, or is there a parameter to?
Thanks in advanced,

The HELO command is sent in lib/pkp/classes/mail/SMTPMailer.inc.php in the "mail" function:
- Code: Select all
// Send HELO/EHLO command
$serverHost = preg_replace("/:\d*$/", '', Request::getServerHost());
if (!$this->send($this->auth ? 'EHLO' : 'HELO', $serverHost))
return $this->disconnect('Could not send HELO/HELO');
The server host comes from the $_SERVER variable in the following order of precedence:
I'd suggest using an error_log statement in the email sending code to dump out what it's currently using and debugging from there.
