Forum rules
What to do if you have a technical problem with OCS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved. Please note that this FAQ is OJS-centric, but most issues are applicable to both platforms.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OCS Conference Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OCS Development subforum.

Fatal error at session end

Postby Celuloide » Fri Aug 09, 2013 9:21 am

Hi,
I get an issue when I try to log out on OCS. I've just upgraded to 2.3.5.0 and changed PHP version to 5.4.17. The only way to log out is to enforce it on admin settings.
When clic Log out I get:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function session_is_registered() in /mypath/lib/pkp/classes/session/Session.inc.php on line 64

Reference: http://www.icono14.es/actas

Is there something I can do?

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi!
I've just installed the latest OCS version for a test purpose and can't schedule a conference receiving the same error:
Code: Select all
Call to undefined function session_is_registered()

I'm using the shared hosting so I can't run patches but I've logged in file systems and what is interesting there is no any "session" folder in "classes" session.
What should I do next?
Thank you!

Hi Garant,

This is bug #7544 (listed on the recommended patches page for OCS 2.3.5). The patch is for OJS but will apply equally to OJS. (If you can't run the patch tool on your server, I suggest modifying the file manually -- it's a small patch so this should take a moment.)

Hi Alec!
Thank you for your reply!
But as you see, I can't run the http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=7544 patch
because I have no "session" folder... this is very weird for me ...

Hi Grarant,

Look for the files to modify starting in lib/pkp.
