What to do if you have a technical problem with OCS:

1. Search the forum. You can do this from the Advanced Search Page or from our Google Custom Search, which will search the entire PKP site. If you are encountering an error, we especially recommend searching the forum for said error.

2. Check the FAQ to see if your question or error has already been resolved. Please note that this FAQ is OJS-centric, but most issues are applicable to both platforms.

3. Post a question, but please, only after trying the above two solutions. If it's a workflow or usability question you should probably post to the OCS Conference Support and Discussion subforum; if you have a development question, try the OCS Development subforum.

Hi Alec,

Since the fix for the patch, the new registration form elements have been working perfectly.

In Addition, Prasad Rajandran and myself at Science Atlantic developed additional code to write the information from the database into the Registrant Report.

We hope that this could help with the registration forms patch potentially.

To begin, because the title and the description are entered in the same text box, it was decided that generic titles would be generated for each column title (ex. Option 1, Option 2).

The follow are how the following registration form elements are displayed in the .csv:
Check boxes - A number is displayed for each box that is checked (ex. if one and three were checked it would display 1, 3). If the check box is empty, nothing will display.

Radio buttons and drop down menu: Displayed in the same way as the order. (ex. if the 4th option is selected, 4 will appear)

Text boxes - Displayed the way the user entered

Because I wasn't sure how OCS connects to the database, I created a new connection using mysqli_connect(). In order to use this, one must write their database information into the mysqli_connect query.

Hi James,

Thanks for contributing! FYI, it's easier (for me, anyway) to exchange code modifications as patch files, generated by the standard "diff" tool.

For DB queries we use ADODB, which allows queries to support MySQL and PostgreSQL; see the review report plugin for an example.

Hi Alec,

No problem! I was hoping that this could help in the development of the patch because I found it very useful.
