It plugin is also installed at http://papers.uab.cat.

BTW, English translation is missing: "##plugins.block.news.link##"

Changes submited to github.

Thanks for the great work done,
m.

Hi,

does anybody know why is possible that news plugin is visible only on Plugin management page? I can't enable it for all pages.
We're using OJS 2.3.8.

Thanks

If not, try cleaning OJS caches.

I just tested it for OJS 2.3.6, so please, let us know if it's working fine with 2.3.8.

Alec, don't you think this plugin could be added to the official release?

Cheers,
m.

Hi Marc,

Our plans for plugins in the future are actually to ship far fewer with OJS (2.4.x's list was getting really overwhelming) and go with some kind of integrated plugin gallery like Wordpress does. This would help keep the shipped version as simple as possible while still facilitating the use of plugins. It would also remove the first- and second-class distinctions between plugins that ship with OJS and those available elsewhere.

Cheers,

Great news. :-) I second the decision.

Does it means that you also have in mind a repository like: http://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-plugin

Maybe this is something to talk in the Tech Committee and also related with how to get community feedback, don't you think?

If you like I can help in building a prototype for this.

BTW, I don't mind if we stop talking about "core" and "non core" plugins, but as a user I like to know what plugins are maintained buy pkp or at least, tested and "approved" by the development team.

What do you think?

Thank you all. php upgrade.php upgrade works but it's necessary to change block.tpl on line 14 to

Code: Select all
<div class="newElement"><a href="{url page="announcement" op="view" path=$new->getId()}" cass="newTitle">

Hi mbria,

Agreed on all counts.

I think it would be useful to have two flags: one for plugins maintained directly by PKP (i.e. in our own git repository, even if they aren't distributed with the tarball), and another for plugins that had been reviewed by PKP.
