Forum rules
This forum is meant for general questions about the usability of OJS from an everyday user's perspective: journal managers, authors, and editors are welcome to post questions here, as are librarians and other support staff. We welcome general questions about the role of OJS and how the workflow works, as well as specific function- or user-related questions.

What to do if you have general, workflow or usability questions about OJS:

1. Read the documentation. We've written documentation to cover from OJS basics to system administration and code development, and we encourage you to read it.

2. take a look at the tutorials. We will continue to add tutorials covering OJS basics as time goes on.

3. Post a question. Questions are always welcome here, but if it's a technical question you should probably post to the OJS Technical Support subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Adding second author after author's submission.

Correct me if I am wrong. There is no provision for editing metadata by adding a second author after the first author finished submission of an article?

We´ve had that problem too. We had to go into the database and add the author manually.

There should be a new step 2.1 that asks the author how many co-authors does the article have, so the system would create dinamically the fields.. shouldn´t be that difficult to implement.

Or better yet, allow for editing of the metadata completely, for the author as well as the editor, during the whole pre-publishing process.

Revising Reviews as well ...

Postby blake » Thu Jul 22, 2004 11:06 am

A related need is the need to edit reviewer inputs. If a reviiewer is just too busy to put the review into the system they just email it to the editor (me). We have to accept that people will do this and its more important to get the actual review than to pester a senior person to log in.

In this case the editor needs to be able to add their review text and enter their review selections so that their "reccomendation" shows up.

THanks
