Forum rules
This forum is meant for general questions about the usability of OJS from an everyday user's perspective: journal managers, authors, and editors are welcome to post questions here, as are librarians and other support staff. We welcome general questions about the role of OJS and how the workflow works, as well as specific function- or user-related questions.

What to do if you have general, workflow or usability questions about OJS:

1. Read the documentation. We've written documentation to cover from OJS basics to system administration and code development, and we encourage you to read it.

2. take a look at the tutorials. We will continue to add tutorials covering OJS basics as time goes on.

3. Post a question. Questions are always welcome here, but if it's a technical question you should probably post to the OJS Technical Support subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Add TLS Support for SMTP

I have tryed to add TLS Support for my SMTP configuration but i have not. I tryed a lot of things for that but there is no success. Also there are not any documentations for SMTP TLS Support. How can i add this code. For example i added code in

Code: Select all
function authenticate_tls() {
      if (!$this->send('STARTTLS'))
         return false;
      if (!$this->receive('220'))
         return false;
      stream_socket_enable_crypto($this->socket, true, STREAM_CRYPTO_METHOD_TLS_CLIENT);
      if (!$this->send('EHLO', $this->server))
         return false;

and added a case

Code: Select all
   case 'TLS':
      return $this->authenticate_tls();

i opened congfig.inc.php and add

Code: Select all
; Enable SMTP authentication
; Supported mechanisms: PLAIN, LOGIN, CRAM-MD5, and DIGEST-MD5
smtp_auth = TLS
smtp_username = my_username
smtp_password = my_password

I could not authenticate. Have u any idea about this problem ?
