Forum rules
This forum is meant for general questions about the usability of OJS from an everyday user's perspective: journal managers, authors, and editors are welcome to post questions here, as are librarians and other support staff. We welcome general questions about the role of OJS and how the workflow works, as well as specific function- or user-related questions.

What to do if you have general, workflow or usability questions about OJS:

1. Read the documentation. We've written documentation to cover from OJS basics to system administration and code development, and we encourage you to read it.

2. take a look at the tutorials. We will continue to add tutorials covering OJS basics as time goes on.

3. Post a question. Questions are always welcome here, but if it's a technical question you should probably post to the OJS Technical Support subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

DOI error when verifying

Postby cacevedoa » Mon Aug 04, 2014 2:41 pm

Hi everyone,

Thanks to all for the support given to the OJS community. It's a great effort and I believe it's very useful.

I need some help and I would like to know if anyone could tell me how to mend the following error which appears when uploading the XML file for an article at the Metadata Quality Check site at CrossRef:

[Error] :2:474: cvc-minLength-valid: Value '' with length = '0' is not facet-valid with respect to minLength '1' for type '#AnonType_registrant'.
[Error] :2:474: cvc-type.3.1.3: The value '' of element 'registrant' is not valid.
[Error] :2:1266: cvc-complex-type.2.4.a: Invalid content was found starting with element 'doi_data'. One of '{"http://www.crossref.org/schema/4.3.0":publication_date}' is expected.

Many thanks for your kind attention!

Hi there,

It looks like you haven't fully configured OJS to work with Crossref, and you may also need to upgrade your system in order to ensure that publication dates are included. I would recommend to upgrade to the latest version of OJS, and to follow the instructions (in particular the cheat sheet) listed here.

Cheers,
James

Hi,
I am trying to set up the registration of DOI using OJS. I think I followed all previous steps, and every time I try to register a DOI (export data), I get a connection error message:

Notification
Registration was not successful! The DOI registration server returned an error: '1 - HTTP/1.1 100 Continue
HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized Date: Sat, 27 Dec 2014 18:55:34 GMT Server: http-kit Access-Control-Allow-Headers: X-Requested-With Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * Www-Authenticate: Basic realm="restricted area" Content-Type: text/plain Content-Length: 13 access denied'.

Any idea about how to solve it?
Thanks!

Hi imedpub,

Double-check your Crossref credentials in the plugin's setup.

Hello!
I've got question regarding CrossRef export plugin.
The DOIs of our journals were registering by third party company.
The time has come to make it by my own :D

There is a check-box in plugin's settings:
OJS will deposit article DOIs automatically to CrossRef as articles are published. Please note that this may take a short amount of time after publication to process. You can check for all unregistered DOIs in the unregistered articles listing.

Does it mean that newly published articles, which include DOI code pasted in meta-data options, will be automatically registered?
And vice-versa, if DOI is not specified in meta-data - the plugin won't make any queries to Crossref?

And where the result of plugin's work could be rechecked in crossref's website? In order to make sure that everything is OK :)
