Dear OJS Community,
I'm diving into OJS and was wondering if it is possible to configure the submission process in a way it does not require a ODT/DOC/etc file to be uploaded but rather only require the author to fill his text/html into a text field? (similar to the abstract submission form after the file submission step) The text field would thus be the main submission container. Or is the only way to get HTML formatted submissions into OJS by uploading a HTML galley file?
Thanks,
Bernhard

Hi Bernhard,
Yes, at the moment the only standard way of getting an HTML galley is to upload one in editing. (There is actually one other option: you can use the XML Galley plugin to transform XML files into HTML, but this is not what you're looking for.) In the future we may incorporate other options into the workflow process, such as Wordpress-style WYSIWYG in-browser text editors for full article galleys, but that won't be in the near future. Of course, if you are able to develop this yourself, we're happy to provide advice as need be.
Cheers,
James
