I am running OJS 2.1.0 and I was wondering if you knew how I could add an additional property to my journals, more specifically a launch date. I have already added the field to the journal settings template, as well as added a column to the Journal table called launch_date. I know I probably need to edit the class files JournalSiteSettingsForm and Journal. I have tried to edit them to get this to work but I see nothing being added to the database.
Is there any documentation that would explain to me how I could get this to work? Or does anyone know what I need to do?
Thanks

Hi bjbqd,
What exactly do you need the launch date for/how are you planning to use it? I'm wondering if maybe just adding some text to the journal's home page would accomplish the same thing, without necessitating any code/db modifications.
Cheers,
James
