Hello,
In our next issue there will be, for the first time, a statistics tutorial, which wants to be able to refer readers to a dataset, to be downloadable as an Excel Spreadsheet. As written, there is a reference in the tutorial to a URL for the dataset.
However, having uploaded them both by the 'speedy' route, and they have gone directly into the Layout section of the Editing page, I have realised that I am still none the wiser how the supplementary material will be accessed by a reader of the tutorial, so I don't know how to amend the text of the tutorial appropriately to refer to this or put in a hyperlink. When I open the supplementary file I don't get a URL I can put in the text of the tutorial, just the internal number assigned by the website.
Help please - I don't know what to do next, as I have not used or seen any type of supplementary file in an online journal before, and we are supposed to be publishing next week!

Hi Janer,
If you have enabled the Reading Tools, there will be a link to the supplementary file(s) in the RT sidebar. Alternatively, you can link directly to the supplementary file (eg. in an HTML galley) by following these instructions: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2917.
